Mokore Safaris/Duckworths have made arrangement on Coutada 14 to take some buffalo there in conjunction with a plains game hunt on their Coutada 9. Buffalo are very plentiful on Coutada 14 and a 38" hard headed bull should be expected. Last season they did kill a big 45" bull there. The hunt will be a real buffalo hunt in the forest or on the edge of the swamps so there will be no painful ARGO rides necessary.

Neil Duckworth suggests a schedule starting with arrival at Tete, Mozambique and spending a few days on Coutada 9. Then you'd drive to Coutada 14 about a half day's drive and hunt the buffalo. The buff should take 2-4 day and then you'd return to Coutada 9 to finish out your safari. As most AR members know from following the hunt reports that Coutada 9 is an excellent area with good trophy quality and several specialty animals on offer. It also is the best wilderness plains game hunt I've ever seen.

This hunt originally was marketed as 1x1 15 days at $1,300 per day.

Hunters can hunt either a Sable or a Nyala on this 12 day buffalo hunt so it's a great option with the best of both worlds by hunting the two blocks with plenty to choose from.
The official IVA tax is 17% which is really high so we as a company take the hit of 7% by only charging clients 10%. I hope this makes sense.

Your math seems to be good. The hunt is about $20,000 to include the buffalo trophy fee. You loose about half a day in each direction as the drive is 5.5 hours so hunt the morning, drive during the heat of the day and hunt the evening. Best time to be there is Sept/Oct and there is minimal game movements in the middle of the day at that time because of the heat. I'm sure a charter could be arranged but it would seem an unnecessary expense to me.
