Fully outfitted, self guided hunt in Cameroun.
This is the most economical way to hunt West Africa for North Western buffalo,Lord Derby eland, and plains game (see trophy list below.) Cost for the basic services is $6000 per hunter as long as there are 2 or more hunters. Add $1000 for concession fee and $1000 for license and paperwork and you are good to go. If you wish to go alone it is $7000 plus the additional fees. Trophy fees are in addition to your fees.
You will be using my personal staff who have done this over 75 times successfully. You are not just “dumped” in the bush. We provide translator, airport help, trackers, porters, cook and vehicles for the trip. All in-country transport is included. It is honestly fully outfitted. Our first hunt in January was 100% for giant eland and NW buffalo! Photos and references available.
I have reservations on government concessions which are prime properties. Dates are April 5-15 and 19-30. I could also set up a hunt in March but time is short so you would need to start paperwork on visa and gun import immediately.
This is a hunt for experienced hunters.

I speak 3 languages fluently. My partner has 8 he speaks, but none of us speak Spanish well enough to conduct a hunt for you. I am glad to get help in communicating in Spanish before the hunt, but you will need someone who speaks either English or French (or one of 6 African languages we know) to do this hunt.

May is open, April is full for 2011. I was at the SCI show in Reno and sold most of 2011 at that time. Two guys moved hunts back from 2010 until 2011 and that is what created the openings this year, we were full until a couple of weeks ago.

I and my buddy Phill are flying out to Cameroon next week to do this very hunt. I reckon in about three weeks I should have a few comments to make .. It is very special that Cam has given us the chance to do a hunt just like the old timers used to do .. with a few porters one heads off into the bush on foot for a week or longer hunting dangerous game .. without a guide. I have been going to Africa as often as I could afford to go ( saving and borrowing my limit) since 1977 ... This should be the icing on the cake... People who love Africa should have such memories to entertain the old fogies some where down the road ..

Cam, how many forest elephants were shot last year, and what months are best?

We have not sent anyone to the forest for elephant in a long time, none last year. We used to have a high success, but there is a lot of poaching for them.
We have just found a new area where there are so many elephants the villages all have official complaints in to the Fish and Game department to come do PAC hunts. I have a guy named Brian who will be doing this hunt in May. I do have several forest elephant hunters this year, but none until May and June.
We were 100% on the savannah elephants last year, but again they are not importable to the USA and are small tusked. At the same time if you want an elephant hunt it is only a $4000 trophy fee. They are a CITES quota animal from Cameroun and many countries can import them.

4 species of buffalo in Africa. Nile Buffalo, along the Nile and a few other places, Cape buffalo all over the continent (big, black with horns hopefully our past 40”) and then 2 species in the band of Central Africa. They are the dwarf, or Forest or Red buffalo. (about 600-800 pounds, often red with very short curved horns) They are the smallest and live in true forest living on leaves for a great part of their diet due to lack of grasses.


The North Western is also called the Savannah or the Europeans call it an Equinox Buffalo. It is in Cameroun, CAR, Benin and a few of the Central African countries.

So Cameroun has 2 species, but only one can be taken in any one year due to license restrictions.
