Terry Anders/Forever African Safaris has some package hunts for sable available for '13 at a price point that would be a very fair price for the sable only. These hunts will be offered on Dingwall which is a 10,000 acre fenced private property not far from Bulawayo. Dingwall is not a heavily marketed property and only has a few hunters per year. It does have an abundance of sable and kudu as well as good populations of other PG species and leopard. This is not a put and take operation nor is the game enhanced in any manner. There is no camp on the property so Terry will bring his mobile tent camp in. The camp will have proper safari tents, real beds and showers. You will want for nothing and the food plus service will be excellent as Terry is very fussy about this aspect of his safaris. Sable should average 37"-40" and kudu 52" plus. A tseesbe is also included in the package and this species although indigenous to Zim is not commonly availabe. One of the things I like about this hunt is that itr is not far from Victoria Falls and Hwange Park making an add-on for a photo tour to these locations very easy. Terry also operates his own tour company so it would be seamless to do a hunt and then continue on for a tour with the same company. PRICING: 1X1 10 DAYS $12,500 to include 1 sable, 1 kudu, 1 tsessbe, 1 zebra, 1 impala, 1 warthog, 1 common duiker and 1 steenbok. EXTRAS: Observer $275 per day Dip/pack $600-$950 dependent on # of aniamls taken MARS $10 per day per person Road transfer $200 RT Gun rental $45 per day Ammo at cost At this point the schedule is very open for '13 with only a couple of hunts in July booked at this time. Guys, Yeah! I know. If you could find a sable for $800 per day 10 days and an average trophy fee of $4,500 that would equal the $12,500 package price. If you include the other animals in my mind this becomes an excellent deal. Mark MARK H. HuntNBgame, A game fence does not hold leopards and in fact many animals come and go under and over the fence. The fence does restrict most herd aniamls. The fenced properties I've been on actully have openings built into the bottom of the fence to allow warthog to move freely through the fence keeping warthogs from digging holes under the fence anywhere they like. I think most folks that have never hunted a properly managed fenced property have an idea that a game fence creates and artificial zoo atmosphere. In reality once on the ground in my experience people do not find the fence to be an issue if the property is not a small put and take operation which Dingwall is not. I hunted Zebra on Broadwell last year that is another 10,000 acre fenced property in the Bulawayo area and believe me you could not have had a better hunt or wilder hunt anywhere for this wary species. There are some fine Sable on this property. My son and I spent a day there last year. Of course, you will have to make the trip through "Elephant Meat" and, the "tar strip" highway. | |||
