I hear he develoed Parkinsons...Jerry Fisher told me , so I supect it's valid. Must have been a hell of a burden to such an artist.

Some years ago, Wally Beinfield expressed interest in publishing a high grade book abut custom guns and engraving.

Winston, Jerry Fisher, Maurice Ottmar, Terry Wallace and I had meeting about such a book. Wally announced that this book would put us on the "map" and we'd be able to command $5000.00 for a custom"

We all looked at him like he had spinach on his teeth, finally Jerry informed Wally that "$5000.00 customs were already history"

Book never materalized !

Though I'd spoken to Winston, really got to know him during that gun show,,Not at all "into mimself",in good physical shape and great sense of humor.

Knowing him was a precious experience, Hasn't passed my notice that I'm the only survior of that fun week end.

Some may not know that Winson and Bob Swartley both worked with Fugger..at the same time there in New Yok and were life long friends.

It's with some chagrin the author of the aricle in Gray's was somewhat critial of Fugger's work...Wonder where the hell that came from? Anyone know who it was?

The comment is apocryphal, but I was told once that Churchill expressed frustration that so much of his work ended up in a safe, mostly never to see the light of day because it was an investment. Not sure if it's true, but I'd believe it.

My point was that it was an insjustice for the author to make such a negative declaration of Fugger's highly regarded work.
