I have flown Ryan Air and EasyJet.

And I can categorically tell you they are infinitely better within Europe than any of the major Airlines like Lufthansa.

On Lufhansa, and others, Business Class, one gets exactly teh same seats as in Economy, but in a 3 seat row, the middle is left empty!!

Who benefits from that??

Their in flight service and attitude of the stewardess is atrocious compared with Ryan Air.

I know, it came like a shock to me too.

For so many years I have put up with the terrible service of Luthansa and SAS. Now whenever I fly within Europe I take one of the other smaller airlines.

I think the photos above are from different airlines.

Saeed, we have not had the same experience.

My one and only and last and final flight with Ryan Air was from Glasgow to Barcelona.

I would have preferred, had I been given the choice, a bus ride from Katima Mulilo to Ngoma!

Saeed, I wholeheartedly agree, both SAS and Lufthansa suck, big time...Swiss Air aint no better either..

I use Norwegian or Ryan Air to cut cost when possible when flying within Europe.

Norwegian is not Ryan Air that's for sure, zero problems flying with them. Yes, the big State airlines are not the best for Inter-Europe flights, but they are not Ryan Air either.

I think that's a little unfair on Lufthansa - if anything goes wrong on EJ or Ryanair you're on you're own. If the flight is less than 80% full it won't go, everything is extra - bags, in flight meals, etc, etc. Ryanair at one point wanted to charge for the restrooms - £1 a poop. If you require to claim anything from them you will need to take it to court to get a penny.

Personally I have never had any issue with Luftwaffe - it's not fancy but it does exactly what it says on the tin - and they are good with guns = just done a driven boar hunt in Poland with no issues.

With Ryanair at least one knows what he is getting into, and is certainly much cheaper.

We weighed all our luggage, and had bought extra for whatever we were taking.

I will tell you another sad story about Lufthansa - in fact, it was on my last flight with them from Europe.

I was travelling from Stockholm back to Dubai via Munich.

I was travelling Business Class from Stockholm to Munich, and First Class from Munich to Dubai.

They gave me hassle about my carry on bag being more than 7 Kgs - I have cameras and a computer in it.

I refused to put anything of these in my suitcase, and told the not very pleasant lady at the check in I either get on the flight with it, or I cancel all my flights on Lufthansa.

She let me get on.

At Munich, our flight was delayed about an hour - we were in the plane for that time, when they announced the flight was cancelled for a technical fault.

They sent us all to the help desk, to get hotel and an alternate flight.

There were many families with small kids, and I was on my own, so I stood by and let everyone go first.

The help desk was routing everyone on STAR ALLIANCE airlines, and some were given ridiculous routes!!

When I got to teh desk, I gave the man my ticket, and told him "I need to get to Dubai tomorrow, and I am NOT flying any STAR ALLIANCE airline. I would like to get on one of Emirates flights. If you are unable to do that, fine, I will get it done myself"

The man gave me a really funny look, looked at my ticket, and said he could put me on Emirates but from Frankfort.

I said that is fine.

Outside the airport, there was pandemonium! It was raining, and teh airport was closed. There was no transport to take the passengers to their hotels.

Each family was given a single taxi ticket - some had more people than fit in the taxi, some had little kids that the taxis refused to take because they had no child seats.

Again, I stood back and watched, and I seriously considered going back to the First Class lounge to spend the night, but I would have preferred to have a shower.

Taxis were coming one every 5-10 minutes!!

Someone went in and complained about this mess.

Eventually the lady who gave me the hotel voucher arrived, and the first thing she said was "Why are you still here? You are a First Class Passenger, and should have taken the first taxi"

I said "I am on my own, and there are passengers with kids, I thought I will let them go first"

She got me on teh next taxi.

Early next morning, I arrived at the First Class lounge, and found that our help desk man had booked me on a connecting flight to Frankfort that leaves me about 45 minutes to get from one terminal to another.

A very helpful lady changed that and got me to Frankfort 90 minutes early.

I remember very clearly one of the stewardesses saying "we are having far too many technical issues now" as we left the plane in the evening.
