A friend was supposed to fly today from Heathrow to Stockholm.

BA cancelled the flight just as he arrived to check in!

Me t flight is an hour later, and full!

He is hopping mad! And promised to never, ever fly Bloody Awful Airlines again!

I just read BA kicked people of flights from London City because of heat. Too hot and too heavy the plane would not fly.

I did a round trip on BA the beginning of the month, nonstop Dallas, TX to London Heathrow. The out trip was very good. First time on a B747. An older jet but 1st class was still really nice. Coming back was 1.5 hour mechanical delay at Heathrow which led to flying circles above North Texas for an hour because of thunderstorms. A divert to Houston for the same weather. An hour sitting on the plane followed by 30 min taxi to takeoff to Dallas again -> Right when we were next for the runway the aircrew timed out and could not fly anymore that day, 30 mins back to the terminal. Another 1.5 hours sat on the airplane. Everyone off the plane for A) Bus from Houston to Dallas or B) Stay overnight in Houston. Organization on that was a total cluster. I ended up renting a car and driving to DFW to pickup my Jeep.

After the one experience I can't say I would recommend BA either.

What I find rather amazing is the fact that airlines in Europe are screwing their customers right left and center, and no one seems to care.

Despite all the regulations protecting passengers rights.

The major airlines have no clue why they are loosing passengers to smaller airlines.

For example, we used to travel throughout Europe on the major European airlines, in Business Class.

They provide you with a row of three seats - the same configuration as in Economy, but the middle seat is left empty!!!

On a number of occasions, we found others sitting in our seats, and talking to the stewardess was totally useless.

I had to personally get those thoughtless passengers off our seats - at the same time holding everyone up from boarding!

Something non of us would like to see happen.

They change planes at the last moment, and then they require you to put your hand luggage in the hold!

I absolutely refuse to that, and insist on taking it with me in the cabin.

I am always polite, and tell them if I cannot, I am not flying!

It is such a blessing now that we have Dubai as an international hub, and we can practically fly non stop to almost anywhere in the world on decent airlines, completely avoiding the stupidity of the Europeans.

I'm traveling with these idiots tomorrow evening !
