My flight was with BA from PRG to PVD via LHR and PHL. July 12: BA0855 PRG to LHR - 10:05 BA0067 LHR to PHL - 13:40 AA5029 PHL to PVD - 19:21 July 12 morning, I got SMS from BA "your flight was canceled". What flight was not specified. When I get to airport, at check-in they told me, that flight LHR to PHL was canceled and they can't check-in my luggage to PVD, only to LHR because system doesn't allow to do this because of canceled flight. They told me what to do at LHR, because there is no BA desk in PRG. First of all, they changed some plate on airplane, later, they found that plane is wrong fueled (too little in one wing and too much in another). So it got some delay. At LHR, I contacted BA desk, guy at desk was very professional and helpful and they found for me alternative flight with United Airlines and rerouted my bags to them and final PVD destination. Sent me to United desk at different terminal. I got those flights: UA941 LHR to EWR - 16:00 UA4189 EWR to PVD - 21:38 Lady at United desk at LHR was very nice, professional, clear explaining everything (what to do if baggage will arrive with our flight in EWR and what to do if not). Flight LHR to EWR was nice until I found in EWR that flight UA4189 EWR to PVD was canceled. Also baggage didn't arrive with me. When I asked any staff there, there was only stupid monkeys with no will to help. Just go through security check, ask there, they said. So I did it through security, found United gates and asked there. Stupid monkeys telling just: Go there, there are scanners, scan your boarding pass, take care of your self. I got to the direction I was instructed for, no scanners. So I came back. "There are no scanners", I said. OK, find by your self somewhere and go away. So I searched again. No luck. Third person I asked, cleaning there tables, told me scanners are at gate C91. So I had to ask cleaning lady for scanners, not United staff. I found scanners and found that only possible flight to PVD is after 24 h. Jesus Christ, so I chose flight to BOS instead: UA1420 - 6:30 AM and train from Boston to Providence. I entered Polaris lounge as business class passenger and used United help desk there. It was only nice, clever, helpful and not lying United staff during my state in US so far. Will continue. I asked her about my baggage, she told me it didn't arrive at EWR, I took shower there. We talked about my situation, if any hotel available etc. Nearest available hotel was 16 miles away from airport, so I chose to stay at airport. Been in Polaris lounge until 10:30 PM when they closed it. Screen shown flight will depart from gate C(some number), so I was close to this gate and try to sleep a little. When I woke up about 3 AM, screen shown gate change to A(some number), so different terminal. I moved to shuttle entrance, it was closed. Opened in 4 am, so I moved to terminal A. When I was there, screen shown gate change to C(some number), so I have to go back again to terminal C. Boarded that plane, landed in Boston, meet a friend there and went for Providence by train. It took 34 hours or so from PRG to the hotel in Providence. I checked in and went for airport in Providece for baggage claim. Saturday 13 about maybe 2 PM or plus minus hour, I looked for baggage claim office. Office was closed, nobody there and the same for next days. So I went to United desk upstairs do baggage claim there. I filled paper, explained situation. They promised they will call me and sent me email. I got no email, no call. Installed United app in cellphone, saying baggage is in Boston. At United desk where I came back next day, they told me baggage is in Newark and do new claim. I hoped better/more clever lady is there doing claim directly to computer. She said after a minute, you will get copy of claim in your email, I will call you today. Since Saturday 13, I was at their desk 4 times. No baggage, no call, no email. I have no evidence claim was started. Stupid fucking monkeys there told me every time: "I promise you, I or lady you did claim with will call you today. I promise". Now, it is Thursday 18, 3 PM. No call, no email. Nothing. Fucking liars. Stupid monkeys. For now, United app - both baggage is in BOS Star Alliance tracking - one bag LHR, one in EWR On of bags was my US friend's bag, I left there his leather thing with his address and phone number. He called me that they contacted him from United, that they have two bags Mr. Jiri... and on one bag is name Mr. Frank..., Portland, Oregon and what to do with those bags, which have final destination PVD or BOS and there are still there since July 14. He told lady hell send bags to Mr. Jiri... to the hotel. Lady replied it is too close to his departure (Friday morning), it should not work in time. So sent it to me to Portland, to my home. She replied OK, we will send both bags belonging to Mr. Jiri... to Mr. Frank... to Portland to your home. I left Providence for Portland on Friday, hope bags will be there. They should be already on the way, but tracing is still the same (app says Boston, web says one London, another Newark). Later, someone called my Portland friend Mr. Frank..., that they can't deliver baggage to his home because there is no claim for those bags in the system. What the fuck is this? So what to do now? Go 5th or 6th time to airport in Providence and kill everyone at United desk? (just joking). My bags are lost since July 13, sitting in EWR since July 14, now is July 18, no call to me, no email to me, no evidence I did the claim. When you try to call United, you have to wait an hour to get someone completely retarded on line. Any help appreciated. Jiri | ||

Today, there was young man at United desk, looks like he solved it (However older lady was telling him he is doing it wrong way, he send her away and did it his way). Finely, I got paper claim, copy arrived also in my email inbox, friend in Portland double checked it at PDX airport. Baggage should arrive there today evening, delivered to his house tomorrow mid day. God bless that young man at United desk. Jiri | |||

Fascinating! So sorry to hear of your troubles. Only time I have ever lost my luggage was on a KLM flight from Amsterdam to Detroit many years ago. Luggage did not make it with me, and they delivered it next day. | |||
