Use Enough GunYeah, I was up walking around in the back of the Delta plane in the middle of the night flight on the way back home last week when all of a sudden this "secret" door opened up right near where I was standing close to the rear flight kitchen, and out popped half the flight crew, refreshed and ready to take over for the others. It was then, apparently, the other half of the flight crew's turn to get some sleep in their hidden bunk room. First time that I had ever noticed that on the flights.

shakariIt's not uncommon on long haul aircraft...... Even in the old days when SAA were not allowed to overfly other African countries & had to fly around half of Africa, their 747s had crew rest accommodation & BA 747s had the same thing.

postoakUnfortunately there is only one per aircraft and now The Daily Mail has spilled the beans!

jdollarall long haul flight over a certain number of hours( about 11-12 IIRC) require 2 full crews. obviously they require some sort of separate accommodation with a shift change somewhere during the flight. has no one ever noticed that the people who greeted you on boarding are not the people who thanked you on departure???

I fly on Delta a lot and the crew gave me a tour of one of these. Pretty slick.
