Has anyone rented an apartment or house in Capetown for a month or more?

Was very impressed by the Cape area on my short trip there last August.

Would like to spend a month in Capetown.

I assume there are areas by the harbor that are very safe.

As rough as Cape Town has become, you might spend the rest of your life there.

There are a number of rental management companies available. They're easy to find on the Interweb and reasonably priced considering the exchange rate (1:11 at the moment). But make sure you speak with someone in the know about location and safety. Translation - behind gates, electric wire, armed guards, razor wired dogs, alarm systems, personal guards, and plenty of personal protection devices.

Cape Town is not my hangout of choice in RSA. Too many other great places that have more to offer that are relatively safer to boot. But if you are in the area, don't miss the Paarl wine tour. Great guest houses in the area not to mention great wines.
