Hi,

I don´t want to spoil your trip but doesn´t EA have a real awful track record?

Have a good one,

From just a very little research, they don't seem to be that bad really!

I've flown Ethiopian Airlines dozens of times. It's my 1st choice for going to Addis Ababa. Soon they will have new 787's and fly direct from IAD to ADD. Now (767's)they stop at Rome to refuel and change crews. Boeing has a maintenance facilty in Addis Ababa where thy work on planes from all over Africa. By flying EA, I get to brush up on my Amharic on the way over.

Haven't flown ET in many years, but during the 80's and 90's, they had the best track record of all African carriers and also provided contract maintenance for several. I would choose them over any other African carrier, including SAA.

I loved the old days of overbooking. Twice Ethiopian upgraded me from economy to First!

Ethiopian actually is a damn good airline. They have been in Biz since 1945 and have a relatively new fleet. And as Rich said, they are slotted to receive the new B787's. Their safety record is pretty impressive as well. And since 1970, they have had only 2 crashes.

I'd fly them in a heartbeat and might in 09

I had trouble with Ethiopian Airlines - they let me take my ammo to Tanzania but wouldn't let me return with it. No good reason. Cost me 250 bucks. I try not to fly them.
