Hey guys I have been perusing the Bradt Travel Guide that Dulcinea was kind enough to lend me. I saw that there are train connections from Windhoek to pretty much all of the popular tourist spots. The Trans Namib rail seems quite cheap and runs at night. May not be a good way to "see" Africa but coud help save a day of travel and lodgeing. Has anyone ever used this for a leg of travel? I also see the Desert Express offers kind of comprehensive packages to see the sights....albeit considerably more pricey. http://www.desertexpress.com.na/ | ||

Trans Namib rail is not recommended, not sure how safe your luggage will be and frequent delays, by all means go for the Desert Express as they cater for tourists and have some nice stop overs on the the way to Swakopmund and back. Which tourist spots do you want to visit?
