Well, whether it applies to any of us or not is not the question.

Problem is picking on a certain section of people.

On several occasions, I have seen members of the so called LGBT extremists showing absolutely no respect in their ways in other countries, where it is either illegal, or found unacceptable by the majority of people.

In Dar immigration hall, which has 4 desks, I have seen a middle age European couple, kiss passionately, open mouth, which standing in the que.

I have seen teenage kids being marched out of a shopping mall because they were wearing their trousers so low you can see the crack of their backsides!

Respect the laws of the country you are a guest in - whether you agree with them or not.

A lot of people do not understand this and purposely seem to go out of their way to flaunt it.

Then yell and scream when they get into trouble.

I just wonder when traveling, if this could be an issue for a hunter who shares a double room with another hunter while at a motel. Before or after the flight into the bush?

Just thinking?

It does not matter where you come from or where you are visiting. I was raised that you are a guest in the country you are visiting, you should adhere to their laws and cultural protocol. In addition, you are also representing your country. Proper and polite behavior should not become absent just because you aren't at home.

Well said and so true. I have seen first hand what can happen when one thinks they can bluster their way around seemingly idiotic rules...I made my flight with my rifle and the two idiots who wanted to make their own rules made the flight minus rifles. But they were going to have the officers responsible fired. Right.

I had a client, who understood the black community of Africa or so he claimed...He was the ugly American...I sent him to Tanzania and clearing customs they found his gun had no serial number exposed and questioned it, He arrogantly tossed a $20 bill on the table and said "this will fix it", bingo he hit the local jail, His one call I guess was to me and he was blubering like a baby, scared shitless and had lost his arrogance..I made a calls to a political frind of mine, and got him out of jail but on a plane home, never to return. I sent him to Zimbabwe the following year,

Payoff is a part of African life, but there is a certain educate that goes with that and if you don't understand it, beware and go with the flow..Ive had some damn funny stories along these lines, wonderful memories.

When in a foreign, behave yourself, be patience and smile.

Absolutely 100% correct but the problem is that too many people today don't practice proper and polite behavior in their own country let alone any other.

Due to very bad upbringing!

When we were kids, we dare not do anything considered wrong.

Now, YouTube actually pays them for it!!

Tanzania: U.S. Issues Tanzania Travel Warning

By The Citizen Reporter

Dar es Salaam — The US state department has issued a travel warning to American wishing or visiting Tanzania over crimes, terrorism and human rights violation.

"The State Department urges US citizens to "exercise increased caution" while in Tanzania due to concerns over crime, terrorism and official actions targeting people on the basis of their gender or sexual identity," reads a statement circulated on Thursday December 27, 2018.

The warning statement says US citizens should be cautious against violent crime, such as assault, sexual assault, express kidnapping, mugging, and carjacking, is common.

"Local police may lack the resources to respond effectively to serious crime," says a statement.

It went on saying terrorist groups continue plotting possible attacks in Tanzania. Terrorists may attack with little or no warning, targeting embassies, police stations, mosques, and other places frequented by Westerners.

"Members of the LGBTI community have been arrested, targeted, harassed, and/or charged with unrelated offenses. Individuals detained under suspicion of same-sex sexual conduct could be subject to forced anal examinations," says a statement posted on https://travel.state.gov.

Those who decide to travel to Tanzania, are called to always carry a copy of your US passport and visa and keep original documents in a secure location, be aware of their surroundings and should not leave your food or drink unattended.

They have also advised to stay alert in all locations, especially those frequented by Westerners, void public displays of affection particularly between same-sex couples and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive Alerts and make it easier to locate you in an emergency.

there have been rumors of Africa getting ready to blow up again.
IMO little incidents are about to start popping up, and they are going to lead to more and more problems.

While in the military I remember being given pamphlets concerning mannerisms', courtesies, and how to avoid being an ass in countries we were being deployed to.

You are a representative of your country when in another country and should reflect the best we have to offer.

The book, "The Ugly American" is a good reference, for what I'm saying.

There are a number of organizations that educate their people on what Splittinghairs is talking about through classes, pamphlets, etc. That is a great idea. Maybe DSC and SCI could do something for us hunters-seminars at their conventions, pamphlets, etc. but don't hold your breath folks.
