As I got ready for my May 2019 fifth safari with Sebra Hunting Safaris, I noticed that my Global Entry ID card had expired on my birthday in 2018. I went to the CBP website and verified all of my information, and paid the $100 renewal fee by credit card. The site verified that all of my data was received and listed my status as "Pending Approval". This was in January 2019. I checked on my status in February and March, and it was still "Pending". Finally, in early April it was "Approved", but it did not tell me I needed to schedule a face-to-face interview before the new card would be issued. I scheduled my interview this last week, and went to the ORD International Terminal this morning for my interview. For the FIRST time in all my many dealings with CBP, I had a pleasant interaction with an Agent, Agent Andrade. He verified all my information, asked about my international travels in the last 5 years, and inspected my passport. The final step was electronic fingerprinting. Since I leave for Namibia on May 8th, he assured me the new Global Entry card would be mailed within a week. If you haven't used the Global Entry program, it's a bargain in saving you time in long lines both with TSA as well as CBP when returning from abroad. Just be aware it needs to be renewed every five years. Jesus saves, but Moses invests

I have it, but have moved on to using CLEAR more often than not. Much faster where available.

I was planning on doing this but the shutdown apparently has pushed out the interview slots so late I won’t make it in time.

You just made me check, I'm good until my birthday in 2021. Frank "I don't know what there is about buffalo that frightens me so.....He looks like he hates you personally. He looks like you owe him money." - Robert Ruark, Horn of the Hunter, 1953 NRA Life, SAF Life, CRPA Life, DRSS lite

Two and a half years left on mine. However, it has only helped me get through customs. The Trusted Traveler/Pre Check never worked. I finally realized it may have been that the suffix on my name was not on my card/file. I had to go to the DFW office to prove and a replacement was sent to me. Unfortunately, I have not used it since to see if it works. The need to go through the whole process to renew surprised me. I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills. Marcus Cady DRSS

I know CLEAR is great when leaving. What does it do for reentry?
