My wife and I are planning to spend 10 days sight seeing prior to hunting. However, we are having difficulties arranging for the firearms to be sent ahead of us to our intended hunting destination. Our plan was to send them ahead as soon as arrived in RSA.

Is this not possible? Any options folks have used before?

Thanks!

I used to do that years ago.

I think it is not so easy today.

Take them with you, and arrange for one of the meet and greet services that offer rifle storage.

Several have been mentioned here before.

Again, what Saeed said, and Mark agreed with. tu2 I stored two double rifles at Africa Sky for a week in their big walk in gun safe while I was in the Eastern Cape hunting for small stuff. I then flew back to Jo-burg, stayed another night at Africa Sky and then flew the next morning with the doubles to Zimbabwe to hunt bigger stuff. They charged me a daily fee but it was reasonable.

That's the challenge - we start in the Western Cape for 5 nights and then 4 nights in Dulini. Then we depart for hunting. so if we can't resolve the courier issue (i'm supposed to be on both ends) then I might have to fly to the Eastern Cape on our first day and deliver them to the hunting property. The original plan was to hand them to a courier in Cape Town after arrival and send them to the Eastern Cape.

I thought I would share this even though it's not in SA.
I have a Zambian Ele hunt in August. When I land in Lusaka, the safari company is storing my rifles while I travel on to Vic Falls. When I fly back to Lusaka I will pick up my rifles and fly on to the Luangwa Valley.
I'm doing the same thing on a Tanzania hunt in November. Storing my rifles in Dar and flying on to Zanzibar.
