Heading to hunt the SAVE in late Aug. I have always flow SAA and overnighted in Jburg and flown on to Bulawayo the next day. Meet up with PH and then drive to save.
Just reading more crap about Jburg SAPS and the 4457 form, and am wondering if it it time to switch as I am so overjburg, though I have only had one issue in 20 trips or so
Lookig at emirates out of washington Dulles. I have heard great things with this airline.
Though it shows only a 1 1/2 hour layover in Dubai before flying on to Lusaka and then to HRE.
Does this work? Seems tight to me. Do I have to do anything with rifles or can I check them thru?

It's doable, can't speak about layover options from Dulles but from DFW there are at least three options, 1 1/2 hour to 21 hours.
Your rifles will be checked thru to your destination so no worries there but you might be delayed a moment at the boarding gate while they make sure your "special item" has been loaded on the plane, happened twice to me so I asked a supervisor what the deal was, the special item thing was his reply but at least you know your rifle made the same plane.

Brent,

Yep, on Emirates you would check the rifles in at Dulles and pick them up in Harare so no worries there. There is paperwork that needs to be done though to have the rifles transit Dubai. It isn't a big deal like the SAPS.

Fly Emirates, you will be glad you did.
