If anybody still believes that they should book their hunting travel on-line, listen up: I was in Kyrgyzstan a few days ago, at the Dostuk Hotel in Bishkek. There were two very disappointed Canadian hunters who booked on Aeroflot so they could use their miles. They flew from (I think) Vancouver to Montreal(?) where they learned that Aeroflot was unable for some reason to accept their rifles. They continued to Kyrgyzstan and borrowed the guides rifle, an AK with junk sights. One hunter missed at 150 yds due to the sights. The other did not hunt. You think that's tough? Try this one: Two US hunters on the way to Kyrgyzstan booked their own flights and landed in Istanbul. They failed to check their rifles through, took possession of them at Istanbul, and were arrested for possession of firearms without a license. They were jailed and charged. They are appealing. The booking agent told me that they expected they'd have $100,000 in legal bills before sorting it out and saving their US firearm privileges. I use Gracy Travel and Custom Travel. These people know all about traveling with firearms. | ||
