larryshoresPillows are a very personal thing. What works for one person doesn’t work for the next. They work for me and my kids. They may or may not work for you.

LabmanI'm going to try them out tomorrow on my flights to Vic Falls. I'll let you know how they work for me when I get back on 9/14.

tomahawkerThey’re better nothing. Buy one and try it on a road trip.

DLSI’m going to be taking a My Pillow ‘go anywhere’ pillow on my upcoming trip. It is a smaller version of the regular My Pillow. I sleep better since switching to My Pillow, so I’m taking the smaller, travel sized one on my flight.

AnotherAZWriterWhen I am flying coach on long hauls, I get a bulkhead seat in premium economy and put my roller bag in front of me and elevate my feet; this reduces the pressure on my butt big time.

safari-lawyerOn a recent trip to Uganda, my hunting partner brought a new design of neck pillow - almost like a collar that one would wear after an injury - and he loved it. Not sure who made it, but he bought it in the airport.

SliderI have used them. They work well but they are NOT all the same. Some have beads in them. Some are harder and some are softer. Get one that has medium firmness. I just used one on a recent flight to Vegas.

drjAt my age now if flying involves sleeping I fly biz class-lay flat or I don't go. Back when I flew cattle class I tried several different neck pillows. I liked the one that you inflated by blowing in to it as then you could vary the firmness, plus it deflated and could be stuffed in the carry on.

I have never flown business class.I compared the cost of flying to Johannesburg by economy and business class through expedia and I got a 5000 dollar difference.

lavacaSome actress on one of the late shows recently was touting using a medical neck collar. Looked viable.

LabmanRecently returned from my trip. The neck pillow was an improvement over the tiny pillows the airlines furnish. I'll use them again but there's only so much you can do to increase your comfort in cattle class.

BuffHunter63My take is "NO". They are either too soft and don't provide any support, or they are too hard and just plain uncomfortable.
I always get way too hot with it around my neck. I don't carry them anymore.

Damn. I’ve been contemplating a design like that for years but never took the time to get it done.

shootawayI decided on this one.

shootawayI tried it out today. It supported my head while I was sitting and leaning over forward or to the side.I am glad I purchased it.It should be useful on my 14hr flight.

BuffHunter63Let us know how it works out. It looks like it might get warm after wearing it for a couple of hours.

shootawayIt worked out well. There is not much padding in the rear section so it doesn't cause me to lean forward.I had it on for the whole flight. It also kept my neck warm from the freezing blast of cold air circulating throughout the planes cabin.Of all my hunts this was the most enjoyable flight. There could be better pillows out there. This is the only one I tried.I will use it again.

AnotherAZWriterHaving suffered from an idiot in MN who slid into my lane causing a head-on collision, I got a neck brace to support my neck ($13 at a hospital supply store). It supports my neck so well I think I will use it on my next long flight.

rodellThey don't work for me because of the angle between my neck and my back It leaves my head too far forward. Would I go to sleep I'm pretty sure I'd be handicapped when I woke up. My GF, on the other hand, swears by then.
Each to their own.
