Better keep you eye on your wallet when flying Emirates, you never know who will take it. https://thepointsguy.com/news/...accused-of-stealing/ An Emirates flight attendant is accused of stealing 18,500 Dirhams (~$5,000) from a group of passengers who were in the business-class cabin. The flight was traveling from Thailand to Dubai in June, and the three victims were brothers sitting in business class. According to Gulf News, which cites court documents, the brothers were traveling also with their father, who fell ill during the flight. The brothers went to check on their father, and when they returned to their seats, a total of 18,500 Dirhams in different currencies had been stolen from their wallets. When the brothers noticed their missing belongings, they notified the crew’s supervisor, who also informed the police. The following police investigation determined that a 37-year-old male flight attendant had stolen the cash, based on his fingerprints matching those from one of the wallets. The flight attendant was charged. When he appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance on Wednesday, the suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges. The trial is currently adjourned until the suspect’s lawyer can review the case file.

A few years ago we were contacted by a friend in the US that her friend, was flying on Emirates back to the US, and had lost her engagement ring - probably on the plane. She was asking about who to contact to see if anything was found. I called the airport police, and sure enough, the ring was found in the toilet on the plane by a stewardess, and she handed it to Emirates, who handed it to the airport police. The ring was very expensive, and the police were looking for the owner. She was asked to send a photo of it, which she duly did, and the police were assured it was the same ring. She asked the police to give the ring to us, as we had another friend going to the US, and she would take it with her. The police gave us the ring, and it was duly delivered back to its owner. The lady wanted to give something as a show of her appreciate. Both Emirates and the airport police refused to accept any payment, saying "they are only doing their job. And both were very happy that she got her ring back, and wish her a very happy marriage"

I was flying Emirates business class 3 years ago frm Dubai into Dhaka, Bangladesh. When I was leaving the plane I realized my wallet was missing. The flight attendant went and searched the seat and found it for me and returned it. Great service from that crew. Don Trust only those who stand to lose as much as you do when things go wrong.

It all boils down to you, as a person. Do not let any valuables be away from your person. I travel in cargo trousers, with zippers. My passport, credit cards and wallet are with me all the time. I take them out and put them in my carry on bag as I go through security. Once through that they are back in my pockets. It amazes me to see ladies shopping with Their handbags, often open, with their wallets clearly visible on the shopping trolley!! They move around looking at the goods, with the handbag sitting behind them for anyone with any temptations to take them.
