Did they not announce another branch flying to Africa a while back?

That's too bad. I like flying Lufthansa.

In the past they were a great airline.

They are not even a shadow of what they were.

They got sucked into the Star Alliance.

And instead of improving, they found the lowest common denominator!

My last flight with them so silly it was hard to believe!

Saeed, I think if you research it you will find that LH founded the Star Alliance with the original intention of spinning it out and floating the group but that never happened due to members like South African and others!

They are a good short haul in Europe with good connections and some of their subs are ok. Long haul unless business or first is not great.

Funny you say this.

I have travelled extensively on Star Alliance planes within Europe.

I always travelled Business Class.

And without exception, I ran into one problem or another with them.

I was traveling with my wife, a small baby and a friend.

When we got into the plane, our seats were occupied.

I mentioned this to the stewardess, she could not careless.

She basically said there other seats, in economy.

I had to go around showing those who were in our seats our boarding passes, and got them off.

Another occasion they wanted me to put my carry on bag in the hold.

I told them no way in hell!

They let me.

The seat configuration is the same in economy as in Business.

Only difference is the middle seat is left free.

I tried both Easyjet, and found them exceeding better, within Europe.

What is even better, they fly to airports closer to our destinations.

Last time I was flying Lufthansa back to Dubai.

They had a technical problem, and the flight was cancelled.

No further flights that evening.

They issued us with hotel accommodations and taxi tickets.

The airport is closed, so no taxis were there.

They came at intervals.

People were fighting, as taxis refused to carry children because they had no child seats.

A family of 5 were given 1 Ravi ticket, taxis refuse them because they won’t fit!

I booked the entire t day on Emirates.

That was the last time I flew Lufthansa, and I it remains the last.

Going from Stockholm to Munich, on SAS, another Star Alliance.

They were insisting on removing items from carry bags to eat their requirements.

I refused.

Again, with arguments with a supervisor, showing him my business ticket, and First onward From Munich, he let me.

I hate these stupid, senseless arguments.

Many years ago they were great.

Their Business Jet flight from Dubai was one of my favorites!

The planes were all Business Class.
