I had everything lined up, airline schedule , visa with the proper dates etc. , then the domestic flight from Dar Es Salaam changed their date to a day earlier. The problem I am having is changing the date on my visa. Seems that since I have a visa in the system it will not let me even create another one. Any help on this .

This is a very stupid part of this system.

A visa allows one to go with 3 months of issue.

Why set a date??

It takes time.

And if you have to catch a flight to camp and arrive before dark it becomes a problem.

I may have to, I'm taking all my records showing I had it when the flight schedule changed, the outfitter is giving me a letter stating the flight changed, the old and new letter of invite, if that does not work then I'll have to. Ole well , it's not going to rain on my parade. I've wanted to hunt in Tanzania to long for that to dampen my spirits.

The validity of a visa is the time frame in which it has to utilized and the effective duration of stay starts on the day when your passport is scanned at the entry point.

Well, their system getting worse.

We used to take the passport to the embassy, and get our visa on the spot.

Last year they made it on line.

Took 2-3 days to get it.

Now 10 days in and a friend says he has not heard from them.

It clearly says on the Visa Grant Notice, "Visitor must not arrive before the Visa start date." Next time, I'm thinking about instead of putting the exact dates, add a week before and a week after incase there is a change.

That sounds utterly stupid!

Every visa I have seen has an issue date, and a validity on it.

Visa start date is the day you arrive at country.

I thought it was good for 3 or 6 months, but I'd have to go back and look. I always use a service to get the visas.

Don't bother.

Just got mine and has no mention of arriving date.

Says I am allowed 90 days in country from the date of arrival.
