How long will mask mandates continue on planes as states and cruise ships drop the mandates? I know the FAA has extended the federal mandate through March 2022, but I hope it ends before September.

I’m on a Caribbean cruise right now. The mask mandate is in effect for indoor spaces only.

I was on a flight from Boston two weeks ago and during the pilot's announcement he was asking people not to give the flight crew any problems and to just put up with the masks until next month. He obviously thought that the domestic US flights would be done with it by then.

Hopefully this crap will end before our vacation to Ireland in May.

Trying to understand the context of this article. Does "from" mean travelling from or a resident of South Africa?

I flew biz class to Botswana and the Selous last year and never was hassled about a mask as long as I was in the Q suite with the door closed. Not so Turkish last month on my flight to Istanbul and Islamabad. My ears are still sore from the mask straps!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Just returned from Africa on Qatar. Never saw a face shield and masks were worn only outside the Q suite and even then compliance was iffy. Not even the attendants wore face shields.

I read that Heathrow and British Airways have dropped the mask requirement. So I am hoping other airlines will soon.

The CEOs of all of the major airlines have just formally requested that the U.S. government drop the mask mandate now.

We can only hope that common sense prevails.

This needs to end.

I heard that the flight attendants union that represents Southwest Airlines flight attendants also requested the mask requirement be dropped.
