I'm in the pre-planning process now- thinking about MP in Tajikistan in December 2022. I called TWG and they do not recommend using Emirates due to reliability of the secondary carrier out of Dubai to Dushanbe.

I'd much rather use up some of my Emirates miles for upgrades to Business or even First if they ever start to fly First/A 380 out of Houston again. I know Business is all Turkish flies.

Just like listening to my PH, I listen to my travel agents. Is Turkish really "only" way to get there????

I flew Turkish to Dushanbe without issue.

I flew Emirates to Pakistan and Zimbabwe. Loved it.

My understanding is that Emirates is having some issue with travel agents . TWG sent a friend of mine an article about it.

I know Saeed, but our group is going to start putting in for the 2022 vacation calendar shortly.

Anyway, I really want to fly Emirates. Patrick was very adamant about not "trusting" and not booking through Emirates, which is why I asked.

From the article Larry posted, Patrick is not really concerned about his clients, but how much money he gets!

I hope I am wrong.

Both airlines are good. Really depends who has the better schedule for you.
I used Turkish on countless hunts in Asia.
They are a very reliable airline and has proven to be fairly unproblematic with guns too.
They have a very attractive schedule to many countries in Asia.

FMC,

I can book Emirates through Amadeus system.

Call or e-mail me with any questions, I will help you out if you want to use Emirates.

We used Turkish in 2008 for MP and ibex in Tajikistan and they were great. Husband also used Turkish for Pakistan and had no issues.

Best of luck on your hunt.

Thanks to all. I know I can’t book until March or so, but since our schedule runs Monday through Sunday
I don’t have the bonus of utilizing the prior weekend’s two days for scheduling purposes. Just trying to
do my homework to coordinate arrival dates and of course use up my accumulated miles for upgrades.
