This is terrible. I would not fly the same day on any airline for an event I didn't want to attend. Definitely not for something that I thought was important. Last time I had to file a claim for a flight cancellation they didn't give me a voucher at the airport. I had to file a claim. I hope she didn't accept a voucher instead of filing a claim.

At OR Tambo last week, while riding a bus from terminal to outbound airplane, we drove past a BA A380, gentleman standing next to me commented he had arrived on that very plane. Said it was his first trip on BA…and would be his last, terrible flight.
