Are hunters allowed to bring 3 rifles into Namibia?

When we were there in 2005 the owner of the bed & breakfast we stayed at told us a hunter had recently gone thru customs at the Windhoek airport with 3 rifles. The customs officials thought it was odd to have so many guns and called the police. He was detained for several hours before being released. It may be perfectly alright to do, but you might get some unwanted attention.

I took 2 rifles and a shotgun about 5 years ago.
