Hi Guy's, This is not specifically an African forum question, but I figured the people here are the most experienced world travelers. My question is, when you renew your passport and it has not expired are you issued the same passport number? I am sending mine in for renewal and I have some paper work to fill out for my trip to Zim next May. I was wondering if I am safe to use my current number, or if I should wait? I had to renew mine early because Zimbabwe requires expiration date at least 6 months after expected departure from the country. My passport number did change to a new number. | |||

They will give you a new number and will mail your old passport back to you with holes punched in it. At least you get to keep all your old Visaa and stamps.
