I have had a nightmare of a time with my ruger LOTT with a broken stock and NO help from Ruger. After many hours on the phone by a mate in the US and many emails from myself i received the WRONG stock from hogue about three weeks ago. Can anyone help me out by bringing a stock out to Zim anytime in the future. Finding a stock here is impossible.

Mate,

If you contact Sabi Rifles (www.sabirifles.co.za) in Nelspruit, they could probably supply you with a plastic one or use that as a pattern to make you a wooden one if you prefer.

You could either have them send it up to you or alternatively, I'm sure someone like Aubs could even bring it up for you...... I might even be in your neck of the woods in August or so and if it works out, I'll bring it myself.

zimguide,

You can put on as many of those Ruger woodstocks as you want but if they are not properly bedded you'll break each one eventually. They are notorious for this.

Good luck

Because of that very same problem, I and a close friend of mine, both had to have our 458 Lotts re-stocked and re-bedded by LeRoy Barry of Canyon Creek Custom Gun Stocks in Montana. Now, they're strong enough to take the beating of a 600 NE! I also used Bastogne Walnut for mine, as it is the heaviest and most dense of all of the Walnuts. Big Grin
