Reloading dies in carry on

This is probably a dumb question and I probably know the answer, but I am asking it anyway. I'm leaving on my first safari in 31 days. My PH has asked me to bring him a couple sets of reloading dies. Seeing as I am travelling thru Joburg, I am not anxious to put them in my checked bags. I would put them in my ammo box, but I am bumping against the 5K limit now and I am not sure they will fit in my gun case with my two rifles. I checked TSA regs but they were pretty vague.

Thanks!

Adam

I have taken reloading equiptment to Africa on three different trips. I always put them in my checked luggage, separate from my amo. My travels were to Tanzania and Namibia, not sure how they do business in South Africa.

i don't believe i'd take them in carry on. depending on what agent you get they could just declare them as gun parts, cause they won't have any idea of what they are
