I might be a few kg over 23 kg on my gun case and contents on my flight to Harare and back from J'burg.

It is not an issue on my flight to J'Burg as I have a 32 kg allowance for that leg of flight.

While SAA web site says they would charge extra for over limit they do not say how much per kilo.

Anyone know the actual fee?

I've flown from New York to Joberg and on to other counties on SAA and never realized about the lower weight limitations on the flights within Africa. I've flown to Zim, Botswana and Namibia. I'm sure my bag was over the lower weight limit but I was never charged. I checked my bags from NY thru to my final destination therefore I never claimed them in Joberg.

If bag checked all the way through, sure no problem.

I am overnighting at J'burg both ways.
