Just booked my tickets and waited too long. Leaving in May and coming back in late June. I like flying Delta because there is a flight coming in most everyday. I fly into RSA and hunt for two weeks. Then driving up to Zim for Buffalo. Going to have to go through customs twice because my flight would have gone up $2,000 for a connecting flight with SAA out of Vic Falls on my return. Total airfare was 2,700. I should have booked earlier. It would be so much easier and cheaper to fly without guns. I prefer to stay away from flights that go through Europe.

I've often traveled from Vic Falls to Atlanta using SAA for the first leg to JNB, then the Delta 201 flight that same evening back to ATL... maybe 15 times, I'd guess. Upon my request at VFA check-in, I've never had a problem getting my bags checked through to ATL (not requiring me to go through SAPS) even though my tickets may have been purchased separately. Maybe I'm just lucky?

I do belt and suspenders, though. I have filled out SAPS forms ready to go if I find a recalcitrant ticket agent, though.

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Out of interest when you drive up which border crossing do you take and are you driving to Harare?
