Watch out for their requirement of being given 72 hours notice that you'll be travelling with firearms and also for their strict restrictions on ex military calibres........... I'm assured that they're relaxing those a little but so far, haven't seen anything in writing.
I didnt think that £25.00 would have hurt you that much Trevor! For those who didnt know this new member in our midst is a well known rifle maker hear in the UK who specialises in making excellent African calibres. Welcome to the forum Trevor. I am sure that the members can benefit from your expertise.( as long as they dont want any advise on fishing of course ! )

Hello Trevor, I hadn't made the connection I'm afraid but welcome to the forum.
I had a client a couple of years ago who had one of your rifles and very nice it was too! ......... took him two days hunting before I could convince him he didn't need to be carrying it through the bush in a slip though!
I had to pay British L25 when we departed Johannesburg in June. I will say, though, that the attention and care they gave to seeing that my guns were safely loaded on the plane was worth the cost. My impression is that they pay a lot more attention to the proper handling of guns than some other airlines. I've flown British twice to South Africa, and would not hesitate to fly with them again.
I just wish those 747's had a bit more comfortable seats, but at least they aren't airbus jets.
