I am going on my first trip to Africa ( RSA plains game) in August/08. I am planning to get my rifle barrel refinished over the winter, and I had a question regarding page 5 of the SAPS 520 form. My rifle was originally bought chambered for 7mm Rem. Mag, and I had it rechambered for 7mm STW. Do I need to get the barrel calibre stamp changed to match the ammo head stamp, for the 60 rounds Max. I will be bringing?

mine just says .375 no one checked but it would be a good idea if your re finishing the bbl anyway to change to the correct marking might save you a small bribe and some hassle VERITAS ODIUM PARIT

Hi Wsquared, Whatever is on the barrel should be exactly what you put on the SAPS520. The RSA police won't really know the difference if you changed it or not. It will definitely save you any hassle and explanations. -Shannon
