No explaination or comments - just a simple statement. Thats GBP 250/- onto the price of the ticket ......

Add in the cost of a permit handler in RSA and an import permit fee in neighboring country, you have added $5-600 to hunt cost.

shootawayI remember on my way back from Moz the only time I did not fly SAA.My flight with Lufthansa was cancelled because of some stupid strike and I was switched to a BA flight. When I reached the BA check-in counter I heard a loud, rude liberal woman's voice with an english accent come over the radio speaker and say "he's not coming on this flight with a firearm".What an embarrassing incident.I went back to Lufthansa and they put me on a flight with another airline.

MARK H. YOUNGGuys,
BA has always been my preferred carrier but with the weapons handling charge I believe being per leg that increases the cost by 500 pounds. It's just not worth it. I probably will not be recommending them to my clients in the future either.

£250 round trip, and Not each leg:
Limits and charges
There is a limit of 5kg (11lb) of ammunition (cartridges for weapons) per person (IATA Division 1.4S; UN numbers 0012 and 0014). This is for that person’s own use only and excludes ammunition with explosive or incendiary projectiles.
Each bag or case containing firearms or ammunition is subject to a £50 charge each way, payable at check-in, plus applicable local service fees to cover the cost of our specialist firearms and ammunition handling partner. For travel from 1 November 2017, the charge will be £125 each way.
If you take more or heavier bags than your checked baggage allowance, you will need to pay an extra charge.

LabmanAnother good reason to avoid British Airways. Obviously, they do not care about the business they receive from hunters.

SaeedI asked them last March why they changed their name from BOAC to BA.
The man said to make easier as they are the British flag carrier.

SaeedEver since the Spanish bought it, it had gone down the drain.
Same as airports run by that Spanish conglomerate too!

shouldermanIt is actually 500 pounds added to the hunt as each bag is 125 each way. Ammo must be in a separate locked bag from the rifles. so a minimum of 2 bags each way. They charge for ammo as well. That is crazy

fulvioThe BA Finance Manager has made his calculations correctly, i.e. if you can afford to splash a minimum 15/20K+ to kill poor defenseless animals you wont be quibbling over an extra +/-700USD

SaeedThey have just lost me as a passenger.
We have plans to travel to a destination that is not served by Emirates.
Last time we flew Emirates part of the way, and BA the rest.
The actual flight was fine, but their First Class cannot even be compared to Emirates Business Class by any stretch of the imagination.
Their First Class lounge was bloody awful, their handling of passenger boarding was worst of any airline I have flown.
This time we are taking Emirates, then Air Canada.
BA and their Spanish owners can stick it!

Ourvfinal destination is Vancouver.
Air Canada and it’s incompetent partners in the so called STAR ALLIACE have persuaded the Canadian government to refuse Emirates and Etihad permits to fly there.
We had a bit of tiff with them a couple of years ago, as they would not even allow the A380 to fly to Canadian destinations.
They relented on that one, but still refuse to let us fly to Vancouver.
Failing airlines cannot compete with well run airlines so they bribe their politicians to protect them.
And the only thing that comes out of that is more incompetence.
29 November 2017, 17:42
WesheltonjAnd you think Air Canada Business product is better then BA's?
29 November 2017, 18:50

But I will try anyone to avoid BLOODY AWFUL AIRLINES

MARK H. YOUNGSaeed,
I can tell you from my recent experience that Air Canada is the epitome of incompetence in the airline industry.

I have no doubt you are right, from all the antics they have been going through to stop Emirates and Etihad competing with them.
But I am willing to try them just to avoid BA!

WesheltonjYou must really hate BA. I suggest that you fly more North American carriers and see if your view of BA does not improve. I look forward to flying BA. Might I suggest that you take a few long haul flights on some of United roached out planes, and you will love BA.
Your just spoiled with Emirates Business. Better food and booze, young, attractive and pleasant flight attendants. Instead of old, mean and snarky. But the seats are not any better on Emirates 777 planes then BA's.

FjoldI flew in this Air Canada business cubicle last month from Vancouver to London. It's better than most US airlines, not as good as Air New Zealand and not in the same ballpark as Emirates.
The lounge at Vancouver is small and unbelievably crowded in the mornings. It's a lot better than the United lounges in the US though.
