As posted on the Africa forum which is it ? sign for rifle prior to SAPS or just clear customs and go to SAPS ? Any Accurate help ? 1. Upon arrival at JNB, there is no longer a need to locate your gun case and sign a log before going through customs. Go straight to the SAPS office, your guns will show up there. some said no this isnt correct others said it was ????? Africa Bug " Embrace the bite , live for adventure " EJ Carter 2011

Ed, I just spoke to PHASA to get up to date info and was told it's still advisable to go to the firearms point in the baggage hall to make sure that your firearm arrived on the aircraft (and possibly to check they've sent some bugger out to collect it) andthen you go to the SAPS office where your firearm should be waiting for you. Hope that helps.

On Saturday, August 29th we arrived from Lusaka to Jo'burg. As we gathered our luggage, I saw the guy retrieving our Tuffpaks. He was headed to the SAPS office. The custom's lady stopped us while she slowly filled in data in her book which we had to sign. Then we went to the SAPS office to retreive our guns. That was the procedure that day. Regards, D.
