Where to stay in Swakopmund?
Heading to Namibia in March. Will do a driving tour before hunting and will have a night or two planned for Swakopmund.

I am interested in hearing about lodging experiences as well as suggested things to do for my wife and I.

Thanks
Jim

COYOTE HUNTER
We stayed at a bed and breakfast that was simple but nice. I don't remember the name but found it on the internet. A day shark fishing is fun. You can do it right from the shore. Didn't do the airplane ride along the skeleton coast but wanted to. They also have a mineral museum in town if I remember right. We found a little market taking place in town that had some decent carving work.

If you want to be in the centre of town Hansa Hotel, The Stiltz have a beautiful view over the Swakopmund river and dunes, Beach Lodge is literally on the beach but you'll have to drive to town.

Swakopmund is really tourist friendly and once in the centre of town you can walk almost everywhere, lots of shops and places to eat.

I highly recommend the Living Desert Tour www.living-desert-adventures.com or going with Mola Mola on a Seal/ Dolphin watching trip www.mola-namibia.com

The scenic flights is another option you can book them when you are there with Scenic Air, they have a office in town.

All the best

Hansa Hotel is the best in my opinion. Right in the middle of town, good service, good food and accomadations. Walking/shopping is a breeze from this hotel. A trip down to Walvis Bay is nice and the Cat tour in the harbor is great. We took the air tour down over the dunes and back up the coast and would reccommend this as well.

Swakopmund hotel is the most luxurious but it is vety expensive. I liked it but if price is in the equation the stittz is a better option.
a day of shark fishing with terrance is a must Mola Mola fishing.
the seal colony past Henty´s bay( one hour drive) is an incredible (and stinky) experience.
the drive in the namibian dessert with quads is a must too. a late dinner in "the tug" is also neccesary and quite cheap.
the sundowner in the Tiger bar in tha beach is very special... but whatever you do in Swakopmund you will enjoy a good time beer
