I'm considering a two or three day stopover in Dubai on my way back from Africa next year to do some sightseeing. Has anyone done this with firearms? I won't be able to check the firearms through to the U.S. due to the length of the stopover so I think I'll have to find a bonded courier to take possession of the firearms while in Dubai. Any assistance would be welcome.

Thanks MBB and Saeed. I'm flying Emirates on all the flights so that should make things smoother.

Lived there for a time a bit ago and suggest you just pass through and spend your time spare on either end.

Saeed, What is there to do in Dubai for a day or two? Is there anything interesting for a tourist? Is it a safe place for an American to visit? =+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+= DRSS; NRA; Illinois State Rifle Association; Missouri Sport Shooting Association “One of the sad signs of our times is that we have demonized those who produce, subsidized those who refuse to produce, and canonized those who complain.” – Thomas Sowell, “The Vision Of The Anointed: Self-Congratulation As A Basis For Social Policy” .

Dubai is probably one of the safest cities in the world, regardless what nationality you are. As what one can do, it all depends on your interests. Practically all the tourist attractions are available here.
