Any downside flying Qatar Airways to Johannesburg via Qatar? They have flights out of Atlanta now. It looks like they have some good fares, but wondering if Delta is still the way to go. If I went thru Qatar I would plan to stay at a Hotel for one night. Thanks for any tips Mauser

I am flying QA from ATL to JNB in November( for the third time).Business class is half the price of Delta and 10 times better. The outbound layover is only 4 1/2 hours and 2’10” on return. Skytrax magazine rated QA as the best airline in the world for 2019( fifth time since 2011). Enough said.... The only downside to QA from ATL to JNB is the time it takes to get there. It's 15 hours and 30 minutes on Delta with no stops and 32 hours on QA with a stop in Doha. Otherwise as JD says, there is no comparison between QA and Delta. QA almost makes the 32+ trip enjoyable, but it's still 32+ hours of your life you will never get back. ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

I guess we got lucky in November. Total travel time in each direction is +/- 26 hours. And I prefer to to spend 26 hours in heaven than 15 1/2 hours in purgatory. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP

I am flying Qatar B.C. from Houston to Kilimanjaro in August. I am looking forward to arriving at 1:55 PM. My previous trips have been on KLM which arrives in the late evening.
