I'm going to Zambia with a coupe of my industry buddies in late Oct for a hunt with Faizel Lulat of Paya Kakuli Safaris, i have never flown into Lusaka (or anywhere in Africa) from Seattle. What do I need to know regarding the paperwork protocol for Rifles & ammo etc...Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thought it might be better/easier than the JHB-SAPS goatrraop... Thanks in advance....

You could fly EMIRATES. Seattle-Dubai-Lusaka I have idea of what paperwork yiu might require in Lusaka - your professional hunter can advice. May I suggest you book through a reputable travel agent? They know all that is required by the airlines. I do recommend Kathi who is a member here. She has booked many flights for us and she was extremely good. Any idea of your dates??

Tim, Faisal will need to get you lined out on gun permits, bird and hunting licenses. You'll also be charged an ammo tax of $2-$5 dollars a round on arrival. Your travel agent can help you get your visa ahead of time or you can buy it on arrival. Bring cash for these. Do make your arrangements through a travel agent that is familiar with safari travel and handling guns. As Saeed recommended Kathi Klimes specializes in safari travel as does Gracy Travel and Travel With Guns. A regular agent can get you in big trouble and for God's sake do not buy tickets through an on-line site. Expect to pay around $1,400-$1,650 for dip/pack regardless of how many animals you take. Faisal will have a set amount for that. Mark MARK H.
