On my last trip to Zambia I traveled with Virgin and SAA via the dreaded Perth (which really wasn't as bad as most would make out if you take the time to get a WA B709) and Jo'Berg. No problems with firearms to speak of but I'd like a different experience next time - if you've got to spend 5 hours waiting for connecting flights it might as well be in a terminal you haven't seen before. From what I can see the only other carriers available are Kenya via Bangkok and Nairobi, Etihad via Abu Dhabi and Nairobi and Emirates via Singapore and Dubai. Am I correct that both Singapore and Nairobi airports are nightmares to transit with guns? Formerly Gun Barrel Ecologist

Where in oz are you flying from? Emirates fly direct to dubai and then connect to Lusaka and then Harare. As long as you do the dubai airport police gun permits , you should be good to go. Quickest trip though is still direct to JBerg and then connect. Cheers Nick

Brisbane, hence with SAA the trip to Jo'Berg was preceded by a Virgin flight to Perth. Where does Emirates fly straight to Dubai from? Formerly Gun Barrel Ecologist

According to their website Emirates has a direct flight from Brisbane to Dubai. I believe the Brisbane flight originates in Auckland.

Emirates direct BRisbane or Sydney, or you can go Qantas to sydney and get onto the qantas direct to JBerg flight which is the quickest way to Africa Cheers Nick

If your going to be walking around a terminal for 5 hours, go to Dubai. Its amazing. ------------------------------ A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"
