Has anyone gone to Zim with this route? No guns involved. What is the airport in Nairobi like?

Went thru there 2012, will not go back if any other option

They had a major fire there last year. They were going to use tents to replace a building. Not sure what the status of rebuilding will be. Since it is Africa I wouldn't hold my breath.

If you have enough of a layover there is a national park near the airport you might want to visit. Karen Blixen's house in Karen, Northrup McMillan's house is part of the University and can be visited, Stanley Hotel, Norfolk Hotel, etc. Quite a bit to see of old Africa..
