It's a relief to know that not all of the idiot politicians are American. Travel restrictions and quarantines made some sense when the disease appeared to be concentrated in certain countries. Now, the disease is widespread. Compare the UK and US. Both have roughly the same number of cases per capita. Statistically, an American tourist landing in the UK has about the same chances of being infected as the average British citizen. Why would you force that tourist into quarantine? This will accomplish nothing but killing tourism. The same thing applies to world travel in general. I can legally fly to "hot spots" in the US such as NY but cannot fly to Africa. Makes sense, right???

The whole thing is bonkers and unenforceable. There is no way on earth that every traveller can be followed up on return - there is no resource to do this. These "forms" currently do not exist let alone been distributed to the airlines - and they have to be filled in as from Monday!!! All of the European countries have lower rates of infection and death than the UK - what is the point?
