Well this has been a long time coming.
I will be taking some of my family this time.
My mother 84, My wife her first, my youngest daughter, her husband, my hunting buddy for over 45 years and me my 14th safari.
I am going for a croc but mostly to take the family. This was to take place 3 years ago but one month before we where scheduled to leave I had a heart attack. This trip almost got side swiped again my wife came up real sick this last week. She is a real trooper on we go.
Leave out of Dulles tomorrow leave from Albuquerque today. We are flying Ethiopian Airlines. I will give a report on them.
So JoBerg look out here we come.
Gee and Biebs will not be with us I dont think.
See you all in Dallas. Be in Karls booth and have my Double at Bradshaws Booth.

Take care of them all, especially your mom at 84. That is quite a trip for someone her age. Make sure she keeps the circulation going in her legs in order to avoid deep vein thrombosis. Enjoy your trip!! Big Grin

Well just got back to the states this morning.
Not sure this was a run of bad luck for me ( my wife broke a mirror the day we where leaving).
Ethiopian airlines was a disaster one the plane was 18 hours late to Washington DC. We where to leave at 10:15 am did not leave till the next morning at 4:am all that time in the airport. We tried getting to South African Airlines we had 6 people 5 coach and one first class which I booked with miles. They would accept us but the first class booked with miles which was my 84 year old mother they would not so we had to wait now we have lost one day of hunting.
Then we got to Addis Ababa about midnight no customer service we waited in a room 4 hours waiting for our boarding passes, they never showed up I went to the office it was crazy people all over from different delayed flights all trying to grab guys to processes tickets all in a little room almost broke out in a brawl. I found our 6 passports in a pile finally got a guy cornered and made him fill out the tickets well this was by hand the computers were not working so we have a boarding pass no assigned seats. This was 4:40 in the morning to catch a 10 am flight. I realized we did not have any seats assigned on the ticket went to the boarding area the computers were not working but they said the flight was booked solid and the 6 of us were not on it. I went to the gate stopped the line and demanded seats I would not let anybody else board they gave me seats so there must be some people that did not get on. At this point I could care less. Absolutely no body there to help no customer service if you could not speak the language you were just ignored.
Well the trip continued to be a disaster thought I lost the key to my gun case later found it after I broke into it. Then went to the range to test shoot could not get the bolt to close. Well I shoot a Blaser R-8 this happened to be a 300 WBY.
Well when I got back from my deer hunt I forgot to change to bolt head from regular to magnum so no gun.
The outfitter gave me an old old rusty CZ Bruno 270 no magazine one shot only with a taco banged up 4 power scope what the pits have a $100,000 in guns in the US and I am using a gun that made a marginal bumber jack handle.
Well then after 8 days of crapy weather never seen a shooter croc. Did shoot a 32" waterbuck.
Not the end of the bad luck
Got to the airport to leave and they overbooked the flight so we did not have seats to get home again Ethopian airline. We they managed to get me and our party on South African Air
Well not home yet still in DC SO I HOPE THE BAD LUCK IS OVER.
I will post pictures later.
Weary traveler.
