We are two hunters going to RSA in July, and we'll need a place to stay our first night upon arrival in Johannesburg. More importantly, my wife will be joining us one week later, flying on her own, and also needing a place for one night. I want her to be safe and well cared for, from the time she lands until her flight out the next morning. Any adice?

I know that Luis has been ill? Is he still the head man operating Afton House?

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

Afton House all the way...

they will take you to places for dinner or wherever you need to go with a smile on their face.

Annelise - what a darling lady.

Afton House is a great place to overnight but not so much if you're a female solo traveler. What times will your wife be there? If it's more than a few waking hours I would suggest the Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport Hotel or the InterContinental Airport Sun instead of Afton. I've been in Joburg several times by myself and would prefer the hotel setting for solo travel because it's more versatile (and has more than one or two TV channels for when you wake up in the middle of the night and can't fall back asleep). She can have meals in the hotel restaurant, browse in the gift shop, have a drink in the bar or just walk around a little. If she just wants to unwind and order room service and watch TV, the hotel would be the best place for that, too.

Afton House-whether you're man or woman, you'll be taken care of.

I have stayed at the Afton house on all 3 of my trips through SA.

My wife was with me on my last trip.

If for some reason she was traveling alone I would have her stay there as well.

Louis will take good care of her.

PS Just tell him not to take her shopping. Big Grin

He does know all the good, and safe places.
