Folks wait till you try and use your skymiles to get to Arusha or Dar. I have done this twice in the past couple of years with no problems, but now there seems to be a big problem. KLM is not giving award seats to Delta. I can get them through flexperks but not through skymiles. When Delta bought NW they took all my miles in world perks and moved them to skymiles now they can't get me to Kilamanjaro in coach or business. I went all the way to corporate and got the same old song and dance. If KLM doesn't make them available you can't have them. It seems a bit deceptive when they advertise that with skymiles if there is a seat available on Delta or their partners you can have it. Now that turns out not to be the case. Just wondered if anyone has found a way around the problem.

Before DAL aquired NWA Klm had a minority stake in NWA. So they must own part of the resulting company after the merger.

It is a surprise that you can't redeem your skymiles for travel on Klm, as I flew R/T to Dar on tickets purchased that way in 06. I need a new plan for 2011 I guess.
