A curiosity search of air schedules shows that an airline I am unfamiliar with has established service from Frankfurt to Windhoek. Can anyone tell me about Condor airlines and its schedules/service?

I can only tell you that I flew on Condor from Las Vegas to Berlin, Germany two years ago and had no problems at all.

Condor is a subsidiary of Lufthansa as far as I know. I flew with Condor from Frankfurt to Whitehorse and back again in 2010 and will book another trip with them for 2015. Same destination. Condor was as great as any other full service European aircompany. On time, good service on Board and all luggage including rifles and ammo arrived ! Morten The more I know, the less I wonder !

My wife and I flew Condor (Business Class) from Minneapolis to Frankfurt and back about a month ago. Absolutely superior service all the way. I have a 2 million mile card on Delta would say Condor was the easy equal of any service I have received on Delta.

The only thing uglier than the food and service on Delta is their sky waitresses. Oww my eyes... ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

Opus... Over 20 years of very frequent travel on Delta I had very few issues. In general I found Delta cabin service at least equivalent to the other airlines I occasionally (I have a million mile card on American as well as the 2 million card on Delta) used. All of the major U.S. airlines suffered a severe decline in service from the late 80's through early 00's most especially after 9/11. Regarding the visual quality of cabin crew I would agree but only after the aquisition of Northwest. Northwest had, and Delta retained, some of the more elderly and least attractive cabin folks of any airline I have been on. Personally I don't really care about the physical characteristics of the cabin crew so it's not a big issue in my evaluation of an airline.

I travel to Africa three to five times a year. Unfortunately, I have to fly Delta out of Atlanta. For the past few years, their equipment and service have continued to decline. Both legs this past trip, some of the video backs weren't working, one or more heads were out of order, mechanicals are increasing delays in arrivals/departures, the flight attendants needed a walker and supplemental oxygen to make it up the isles, and simply could not bring myself to eat what they are spewing for food in the baggage section. On the other hand, I fly SAA a bunch in county and back and forth to Namibia. Cannot begin to describe the difference in equipment, cleanliness, food and beverage quality, flight attendant attention and their frequent flyer program rocks. I agree that the merger did not improve Delta one iota and most likely has contributed to their slide in service and quality. I too have bunches of miles (was Platinum now Gold thanks to the new un-reward system)and hold my nose when I book with them. I do fly in business most of the time, but increasingly have to fly in the baggage section. Sucks rocks hard. Oh well, I can endure the torture... ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

The only airline I've ever had problems with was Air Namibia & that was due to their goofy service schedule. I don't fly a lot, but what the flight crew looks like is way low on my list of priorities. Friendly service means more to me & I find that if I smile & speak nicely to them (golden rule) I get good service. LORD, let my bullets go where my crosshairs show. Not all who wander are lost. I believe that Air Namibia uses a dart board to determine when they're going to fly next. Of course the dart tosser is a blind man. Their new motto is "We've Perfected SNAFU". To be avoided at all costs... ___________________ Just Remember, We ALL Told You So.

I will check out Condor Airlines BUT it is unlikely that I will fly to Namibia through Frankfurt again ue to 1)that bullshit German gun import permit requirement (wire transfer fee cost of 40-50 dollars plus cost of "day" room; 2) Air Namibia gun case surcharge of $100 BOTH ways; 3) AN unreliable flight schedule. I have never been cancelled in 5 trips but I know of other hunters who have been ! I would rather fly through Joberg than jump through the hoops on the Frk. route, overnight there not withstanding. Shuttle to Whk. on SAA because AN would apply $50 surcharge on that hop as well...

Stonie, Condor (translate=Buzzard? ) is Lufthansa's seasonal charter airline subsidiary. They fly where vacationers make cash for them. We fly them alot to Greece, Turkey, mainland Spain & Mallorca in the summer months and have never been disappointed with their standard which is pretty much cattle class w/Teutonic efficiency. Not too bad for the 1-4 hour flights; you get what you pay for. Only complaint has been the screaming infants & unruly children accompanied by their overwhelmed parents. Condor does a pretty good job of attempting to herd them to one area of the aircraft, though. I can't comment on Condor's long(er) haul service but since Air Namib has had fleet difficulties with corresponding flight cancellations; Condor (Lufthansa) has probbaly seen the potential in the Frankfurt-Windhoek route. It's normally fully booked months in advance and we've had real difficulties getting last minute and recalcitrant hunters booked to Windhoek timely. Some have had to spend 3-4 days loafing in Windhoek (shucks, I'd know what to do if I got stuck!) waiting for their party to arrive; even with attempts at booking via Frankfurt/Johannesburg/Windhoek. Frankfurt Airport is a busy place in the evenings with Lufthansa, South African Airways & Air Namibia flights headed for Jo-Berg & Windhoek. I think it's simply all about a currently lucrative route.
