Last week after deciding I wasn't going to use the Airline miles I had accumulated I decided to donate them to a worthy cause. I choose the Fisher House Foundation, to their Wounded Warrior Project. I done this via Delta's website as follows. http://www.fisherhouse.org/pro...how-to-donate-miles/ A minimum of 1000 miles is required for a donation thru Delta. Some airlines require only 500 miles. You can donate from Alaska,American, Delta, Frontier, and United. Anyone else that would have some miles to donate would be giving to a worthy cause especially at this time of year.

To clarify your post, Fisherhouse has a Hero Miles program. You mentioned Wounded Warrior. Sadly, WW has evolved into a scam. To my knowledge, there is zero relationship between FH and WW. Hunting: Exercising dominion over creation at 2800 fps.

another good option is Wings For Our Troops. They use the donated miles to help get service members home pre and post deployment. A very good organization that was founded by a co-worker of mine in memory of her only son. From their web page: The Wings for Our Troops Foundation was born out of our desire to honor our son, CPL Chad S Wade, USMC, who was killed in action while in combat in Afghanistan on December 1, 2010. Wings for Our Troops Foundation strives to assist Marines/Soldiers in getting home before and/or after deployment or for family emergencies should they not have the financial means to do so otherwise. Most don’t know that these trips home for the enlisted are paid out of their own pockets and on a very modest paycheck. We cannot imagine not having had those 11 days with Chad before he deployed to Afghanistan. We never want one military man or woman to miss the chance to spend time with their loved ones before and/or after deployment or not be able to get home for a family emergency due to finances. We are forever grateful for the time we had with Chad and for the commitment and sacrifice of our armed forces. ****************************************************************** R. Lee Ermey: "The deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his rifle." ****************************************************************** We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!
