I have a 338 RUM already. Love it! I just want to switch out the barrel to a 416 RUM, then I'm legal for dangerous game. It's easy and cheaper to switch barrels than get an entirely new gun. Can one travel thru Africa with one gun and an extra barrel? - one 338 RUM the other 416 RUM. Regards, AIU | ||

Easily done- It is no different than 1 Blaser with 2 barrels, or 1 Sauer 202 with 2 barrels or 1 Chapuis with 2 barrels- all of which I have done in Africa. You can play it either way, the firearms people will not have a clue - one rifle permit with a serial number for one receiver on the permit or two rifle permits with serial numbers for 2 barrels on the permit. I would opt for the 2 serial number approach. Your PH or firearms clearing entity, if you use one, may have better advice for the particular country but I have done it. ______________________________ "Are you gonna pull them pistols,...or whistle Dixie??"
