firearms storage while in hotel
We will be staying at the SeaCliff hotel in Dar EsSalamm and I was wondering what people do with their rifles. Are they kept in the rooms or something else? If anyone has experience please let me know as soon as possible, thanks.

Ask the manager if they have a safe. Never been there but that's the first thing I would ask. Good hunting, David

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Last time we stayed there - 2 years ago - we just took our rifles with us to our rooms.

Stayed at the Movenpick in Dar last year. They checked my rifle in and kept it under lock and key. If I'd known about the Sea Cliff then, I'd have stayed there.

The Sea Cliff has a safe room. You can check your rifles (I leave them in a locked Tuff Pak)just across from the front desk.

For short time periods like going down to eat in the restaurant I just leave them in my room and have had no problems.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

I always carry a steel cable and a good Master lock so I can secure my guncase to "something".

Whether I am in Africa or anywhere else, including a vehicle.

During my visit to the Sea Cliff last year -- I would have felt comfortable leaving my Tuffpak (with rifles) in my room if -- I had it -- but -- outfitter failed or forgot to get my paperwork and my riles set at the airport for two days in their "safe" room which didn't even have a door. I had been assured that my rifles were safe while the outfitter sorted out the paperwork and obtained the appropriate permits -- when the permits were finally in had we went to the airport to retrieve my rifles. As we walked in the door without anyone questioning us I about fainted when I noticed my guncase setting in an open room that I simply walked into and picked up my gun case without question. The only thing they had locked up was the ammo -- go figure!

OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!
