Need more information. What country do you live in? Semi autos are generally, but not always, forbidden items in most foreign countries.

He will need to obtain a Form 4457 from US Customs to take the guns out of the US. He will have to take the guns physically down to the office and let Customs officers examine them to insure that the number on the gun coincides with the number on the form.

You will have to check with your government office that handles this sort of thing to determine if he can import them and determine any forms that may have to be completed prior to or upon his arrival.

And tell him not to book his trip on American Airlines. As mentioned elswhere on this forum, AA will no longer carry guns to Europe or Asia as checked baggage.
