I have an RSA hunt booked in August. Having had one bad experience with SAPS in the past I'm going to use one of the firms that arranges clearance for your guns in advance. I'm aware of Rifle Permits but I'm sure there are others as well. Any suggestions for which firm to use?

Also, I'm planning to stay overnight at the City Lodge in the airport. How do you get from the SAPS office to City Lodge? Is it within walking distance? When staying at City Lodge can you just keep your guns in your room?

I use henrys rifle permit service and has been great the 4 times I use it. I like there vip service they met you get you through customs and help get your bags. then get you to police were your permit will be done in a few minutes

I stayed at city lodge last trip and there is an inside walk way right to hotel.

I have used Rifle Permits, PHASA offers meet and greet, we’ve used Air2000 several times and part of their service includes walking your luggage to City Lodge and you can have them take your luggage back to the domestic terminal the following day. Rifle Permits and Air2000 both wort the money. They get you thru the domestic flight check in BS very quickly, too.

Hi Tom

I have used Gracy travel and their meet and greet.

they will walk you to the city lodge and help you check in and then will set a time to be met at the check in counter the next day and walk you back through the ticket agent and firearms and walk you to the portal to gain entry to the exit gates.

great service

Gracy Travel 100%! You will not find a more seamless transition through OR Tambo PERIOD! Bruce and his crew will whisk you through Customs and SAPS and get you to your room at City Lodge and be there for check in for departure the next day. Couldn't be any better.

Rifle Permits did a great job for me last week. Previously used Bruce and that was also great -- but --- use one or the other --- you will not regret it. City lodge is an easy five minute walk and never leave the airport.

OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!

For our upcoming trip we are using Anne at Air 2000 Hunters Support for meet greet and had her do our City Lodge stay and Airlink tickets on to Tete.

When family comes the following week she will get them through and on to theirs rooms as well. Then in the morning she will put them on a charter.

She is fantastic to work with.

I just used Riflepermits.com for my recent trip to SA. They had my pre-approved SAPS permit waiting for me when I arrived.

I paid extra to have them meet me at City Lodge the next day to walk me to the Airlink counter.

Anna and Marius, an older couple with Riflepermits, were wonderful and helped me each step of the way. I consider it money well spent.
