Okay, okay, its early, but have another trip booked for 2016 and trying to get some ideas on the air travel. General searches bring up various airlines combos, but the one that intrigues me right now is with Emirates Airlines. Now that involves a stop over in Dubai and I see there are "extra" rules to follow thru that airport. An extra day or two there might be an idea, but then the guns are an issue (maybe) plus whatever "breaking" up the trip costs one. What's there to do in Dubai that's of interest? Has anyone done this route from the USA to Joburg/Cape Town and then a connection on to P. E.? If you have done it, would you do it again? Maybe this whole thing is better left with one of the Africa booking specialist once I get closer to the trip in reality anyway as airfares can change a lot over the next 2 years. The other route I find that comes up often in searches is with BA but they use Comair as the SA connector airline and I'm pretty sure they won't/don't carry firearms anymore. Thoughts?

Your best bet is to get an experienced travel agent involved . Travel with guns is who I use . Air Eremites is great much better than south African Air or Delta I do not think Eremites fly directly to PE. You may or may not have time to make a connection to PE or you may have to over night at Joe burg. In any case you will need a completed SAP520 upon arrival. It is much better to have the pre-approved SAP520 upon arrival the service to do this is in my opinion well worth the money. Booking with travel with guns will guide you through the complexities of the airlines fire arms forms and SA requirements
